Why Taking the Step Toward Coaching Matters.

Dream Big

Embrace the opportunity to explore your goals, challenge your limits, and invest in yourself.

Hi Everyone,

I want to share a bit about why taking the step toward coaching is so important and what it can mean for your personal growth.

When I started my journey in the developmental services (DS) sector, I was driven to support others. Over the years, I've realized that even the most experienced individuals benefit from guidance. There’s still a stigma around coaching; it’s often seen as something only people in crisis seek. However, coaching isn’t about weakness; it’s about empowerment. Just like athletes work with coaches to improve their skills, you can work with a coach to enhance your life, leadership, and personal goals.

“Coaching is not about giving people the right answers, it’s about helping them find their own answers and empowering them to take action.”
— Mel Robbins

Since starting in the DS sector, I've earned my diploma in Professional Addiction Studies and Business Administration from McMaster University. I have also completed the Leadership & Advanced Leadership programs through Queens Executive Education, where I honed my skills for effective leadership. Throughout my career, I’ve had coaches and mentors who guided me, helping me navigate challenges and recognize opportunities. Their support was invaluable in my development, reinforcing the idea that coaching is a powerful tool for growth.

In my work, I have coached numerous women who are seeking to make positive changes in their lives. Research shows that coaching has profound positive outcomes. For instance, a study published in Psychological Science found that individuals who work with a coach report a significant increase in their overall productivity—by as much as 86%. Additionally, a study by the American Psychological Association indicates that coaching can enhance emotional well-being, with over 70% of participants experiencing improved self-awareness and emotional intelligence.

Moreover, the International Coach Federation reports that nearly 80% of clients who engage in coaching feel an increase in their self-confidence. When women come to coaching, they emerge with greater clarity about their goals and the tools to achieve them.

Further emphasizing the value of coaching, a report from the Institute of Coaching reveals that organizations that invest in coaching see an average return on investment (ROI) of 6 times their initial investment. This demonstrates not only the personal benefit of coaching but also its value in a professional context.

Coaching provides valuable tools to navigate challenges, clarify your vision, and develop a path toward your aspirations. It’s a partnership built on trust, offering an outside perspective that helps identify areas for growth and provide strategies to move forward.

I want to emphasize that everything we discuss is confidential. This safe space is crucial for honest reflection and real transformation.

If you’ve been considering coaching or feel unsure about taking that first step, know that it’s okay to seek support. It’s a sign of strength to recognize that you want more for yourself—and I’m here to help you achieve it.

Let’s take this journey together. You can be the Leader of your Life!

Best,

Sarah
